Works with them and other stakeholders to influence service innovation and growth.   Values Crossroads Care Rotherham places carers and people with care needs at the heart of everything we do.   Trust – we understand that our services only respond to carers’ needs when they trust us to care for the person they support   Involvement – carers and people with care needs drive Crossroads Care Rotherham’s service design and development.                 Community Befriender Volunteers visit carers in their own homes and out in the community. Listening and chatting, leisure/social activities. Keep a log of visits made and brief details of conversations. A DBS will be required for this role. Carers Support & Activity Group Volunteer   Tasks include, engaging with carers, providing stimulating conversation on a 1:1 basis, if they want someone to talk to. Support carers to join in with activity sessions and making and serving refreshments.  Crossroads Care Charity Shop / Coffee Shop volunteer   https://crossroadsrotherham.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/original-720F3210-318B-44D4-8336-A552E4EB8882.jpeg Tasks include, assisting with sorting, steaming, pricing, displaying and hanging of donated items. Serving hot beverages to members of the public. High quality customer service and recording sales on the cash register   Other roles include: Admin & Fundraising volunteers.

A huge sense of pride and achievement.     Volunteer Roles Telephone Befriending Make regular telephone calls offering a listening ear and social contact.Keep a log of calls and brief details of conversation. We work with over 35,000 individuals and their families, helping carers to make a life of their own outside caring.   Volunteer Recruitment Crossroads recruits and train local people to provide much needed support to improve the health & wellbeing of carers in Rotherham. Crossroads recruit’s volunteers, of any age, who are able to give a little of their time to help reduce cares social isolation and improve their health and well-being. Crossroads has casual and permanent volunteering roles.   Crossroads volunteers help to increase diversity, create connections in the local community, and give the scheme the opportunity to carry out new projects and add value to existing services.

  Aims   To recruit and train local people to provide much needed support to improve the health and wellbeing of carers in Rotherham.   Help to increase diversity, create connections in the local community, and give the scheme the opportunity to carry out new projects and add value to existing services.   Support carers to cope better with their day to day caring role, improve health and wellbeing, reduce symptoms of isolation and loneliness, increase confidence and independence.   Support ex-carers, when their caring journey ends to create a new life for themselves and re-connect with life outside of the caring role.   Crossroads Care..
