Salary: £24,050 full time equivalent plus excellent benefits
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Based: Rotherham, some travel across the borough may be required

Purpose
The aim of the role is to support unpaid carers in the Rotherham Borough through a variety of means from Befriending, providing information and support to Support groups.
General Responsibilities
The role will involve;
Additional funding from The Lottery has granted us the opportunity to expand our team of Information and Support Officer roles in Rotherham.
- Carrying out detailed assessments of carers and developing appropriate support plans which are outcome based and promotes carers’ independence.
- Through the referral process, assess needs, research and respond appropriately to detailed enquiries from a range of sources.
- Providing a personalised response to carers and professionals in the most appropriate format, tailored to their specific needs.
- Promoting the physical and mental health of carers by providing tailored information about local and national health and wellbeing services, signposting as necessary.
- Providing information and support for carers to access relevant breaks, education, training and leisure.
- To set up and run weekly carers groups with planned activities each week (one in Central and 1 in South)
