Dementia Day Centre 

The Dementia Centre at Crossroads Care Rotherham offers specialist support for people living with dementia and for the families and carers who support them.

We understand that a dementia diagnosis can be life-changing, and our aim is to provide reassurance, understanding and practical help at every stage of the journey.

Our centre provides a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can take part in meaningful activities designed to promote independence, wellbeing and quality of life. At the same time, we offer families and carers the opportunity to access advice, emotional support and much-needed respite.

 

This service offers:

 

  • Person-centred care in our safe, welcoming and stimulating Day Centre setting for people with dementia.
  • Respite care for carers of people with dementia.
  • Socially stimulating activities led by qualified staff and supported by volunteers.
  • Weekly sessions every Tuesday’s and Thursday’s: AM (10 – 1) PM (12 – 3) Full day (10 – 3)
  • All sessions include a hot meal, drinks and snacks

Criteria for accessing this service:

  • Care for a person with dementia
  • Assessment of need to be completed prior to accessing the service

The service can be accessed via:

  • A referral from the local authority (social worker)
  • Self-referral to Crossroads care Rotherham.
