Mental Health Carer Support Co-ordinator Vacancy
Salary: £20,954 pro rata plus excellent benefits!
Hours: 18.5 hours per week (Job Share)
Contract Type: 12 months fixed term initially (subject to further funding)

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to develop a new service to support carers of people with mental health issues in Rotherham. The aim of the role is to build resilience and reduce the risk of carers falling into crisis. This role has been created to work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners out in the community providing information and support to identified carers in addition to signposting where appropriate. This role will develop based on the demand and needs of carers.
To engage with, make contacts and build good working relationships with voluntary and statutory professionals in order to raise awareness of carers issues.
Promote the support services available to carers of people with mental health conditions.
To provide and maintain up-to-date information for displays in community settings.
To encourage professionals to recognise and support carers of people with mental health conditions.
To deliver workshops across the Borough to Carers raising awareness on Herbert Protocol & This is me.
To collate project statistics and provide timely and accurate reports to the Carers Resilience Manager.
Actively utilise outcome tools ie. Outcome star to monitor effectiveness of the service.
In collaboration with other voluntary and statutory agencies, support carers to access services, training, advice, information and benefits to promote carers health and wellbeing.
Attend and participate at meetings and forums relevant to mental health and carers issues as required.
To direct all referrals through the appropriate channel.
