Support for Carers from GP Practices
All GP surgeries in Rotherham have a Carers Register. If you care for a relative or friend in an unpaid capacity then talk to the receptionist at your GP practice and ask to add your details to their Carers Register. The fact that you are a carer is then highlighted in your health record and your GP will take this into account when offering advice about your health.
GP reception staff will sign-post carers to advice and support services and most surgeries have a designated noticeboard for carers in the waiting area.
All Carers who are registered are able to access free flu vaccinations as well as a Well-being Check.
